Optimus Gryme at SandBar
Every Saturday night from 9pm until 1am over the winter months
there will be in-house drink specials and a DJ behind the decks
at SandBar in Oneroa. This week sees home-grown star Optimus

Soul Sista at The Bay
Soul Sista plays at The Bay at Matiatia every Saturday in August

Ostend Saturday Market
Open from 8.30am to 12.30pm selling a range of Waiheke crafts,
gifts, plants, books, clothing and food at Anzac Reserve in Ostend.

Te Matuku Oyster Day at Man O' War
An event combining Te Matuku Bay oysters in their prime and
Man O' War wine with live entertainment from blues duo The
Mojo Risers at the Man O' War tasting room at Man O'War Bay
on Saturday 25 August. Tickets are $60 and include transport to
the tasting room, a glass of bubbles and a dozen oysters.

The Waiheke Walking Festival
Two walks aimed at children will feature as part of this year's
Waiheke Walking Festival, on 26 October to 4 November.
Children aged six to 12 can join senior park ranger Wayne Carlson
on the Ugly Bug Safari to discover more about the creepy crawlies
that call the Whakanewha Regional Park home.
And for the those aged three to six, bring the family and come
along on the Mini Beast Magic walk, also in Whakanewha
Regional Park. Kids will be encouraged to get their hands dirty
while discovering some of the park’s smallest residents. To fnd

Paula Richa at the Waiheke Community Art Gallery
A solo exhibition by South American artist Paula Richa, Colores-
Colours, runs from 27 July to 20 August and The Members' Show
Version 2 runs from 27 July to 20 August.
The gallery is at 2 Korora Road in Oneroa and
open seven days from 10am to 4pm.
Waiheke Island Historical Village
Located at 165 Onetangi Straight, opposite
Take a look at Waiheke's past and discover the
people and events that shaped the island.
Open Wednesdays, weekends and public holidays
from midday until 4pm. Entry by donation.
Whittaker's Musical Museum
More than 100 working musical instruments
including two Bechstein grand pianos, harpsi-
chords, pianolas and accordions. The museum is
open seven days from 1pm to 4pm with a daily
DVD presentation at 1.30pm. Monthly Live @
