The iconic island vineyard and restaurant celebrates 20 years of
fne food and wine on Saturday 21 July with a six-course degusta-

The island choir celebrate 15 years with Stir Gently, a lightheart-
ed look at the groups history, held at Waiheke High School on
Saturday 4 August at 3.30pm and 7pm and Sunday 5 August at

Walk the Ugly Bug Safari
Two walks aimed at children will feature as part of this year’s
Waiheke Walking Festival, on 26 October to 4 November.
Children aged six to 12 can join senior park ranger Wayne Carlson
on the Ugly Bug Safari to discover more about the creepy crawlies
that call the Whakanewha Regional Park home.
And for the those aged three to six, bring the family and come
along on the Mini Beast Magic walk, also in Whakanewha
Kids will be encouraged to get their hands dirty while discovering

My Mother Said I Never Should at Artworks
A comically touching play by Charlotte Keatley, presented by the
Waiheke Theatre Company from Friday 13 July for fve perfor-
mances at Artworks Theatre. Tickets available at iSite in Oneroa
for $20 or $22, with students at $18.
Waiheke Rams versus Waitemata Seagulls
The island team take on the Seagulls at 2.30pm at the Ranui
Domain in Auckland.
School holidays at the Waiheke Community Library
Activity day on Saturday 14 July, from 2pm to 4pm
The library is located in the Artworks complex in Oneroa.
ka O Te Tau at Waiheke, a celebration of Matariki which will
include public talks and demonstrations. Also on at the gallery is
the annual show of members’ work which runs until 16 July.
Enid Marx at Tivoli
On the Tivoli art wall this month is work by distinguished English
artist and designer Enid Marx. The exhibition includes small scale
prints in woodcut and lino. Tivoli is in central Oneroa.
Waiheke Island Historical Village
Take a look at Waiheke’s past and discover the people and events
that shaped the island. Located at 165 Onetangi Straight, opposite
Saratoga vineyard. Open Wednesdays, weekends and public holi-
days from midday until 4pm. Entry by donation.
Go for gold at Zoolympics 2012
Auckland Zoo is inviting all eager competitors to race in and take
the 2012 Zoolympic Challenge, on at the zoo these July holidays
and every day until Sunday 12 August.
As well as earning gold, all competitors can be in with a chance
to win great prizes.
Zoolympics 2012 is on daily (9.30am to 5pm) at Auckland Zoo
from Saturday 30 June until Sunday 12 August. Normal Zoo

The exhibition by island photographers Brenna Jo Gotje, Linda
Young, Peter Rees and Alice Doig runs until 28 July at the Palm

Matariki at TOI
Whenua ki te Whenua – The Promised Land celebrates Matariki
with contributions from a number of signifcant local artists,
weavers and sculptors along with work by local students.
